Christmas and New Year’s Greetings

KW 03 | 2026

Dear Colleagues,

An eventful year is coming to an end. In January, the new Department Management teams took up their posts and, together with their colleagues, found their place in the new departmental structure in an intensive, dialogue-oriented process. Managing all this alongside day-to-day teaching, research, and administrative tasks requires a great deal of openness to change, clear and transparent communication, and genuine respect. Changes are also on the horizon for the university administration, and it is gratifying to see that all colleagues involved are contributing with great commitment to actively shaping further development. We would like to thank you very much for your dedication, your willingness to contribute your ideas for shaping the future, and for the trust you place in each other.

We are looking ahead with confidence and realism. Following the successful conclusion of the 2025–2027 performance agreement last winter, we have been confronted with budget cuts by the Federal Ministry several weeks ago, which we consider challenging, but entirely manageable. We are therefore optimistic about the new year and look forward to working with you, your knowledge, your creativity, and your team spirit to seize opportunities, provide new impetus, and sustainably expand BOKU's position in the national and international arena.

We wish you, your families, and friends relaxing holidays, time for socializing, and renewed energy. May 2026 bring health, joy, and inspiration to you—and enable us all to move forward together in the best possible way.
